AXIS — DIGITAL HEALTH
The digital infrastructure connecting patients, providers, institutions and partners across Africa.
Axis is building the infrastructure that makes healthcare access more connected, more visible and more evidence-driven.
Healthcare access is often a problem of connection.
Patients are disconnected from care.
People may not know where to find the right care, what services are available, or how to access trusted providers.
Systems are disconnected from evidence.
Providers, governments and partners lack real-world visibility into how people access care and where barriers exist.
Local expertise is disconnected from the world.
Researchers and clinicians need stronger pathways to global and diaspora expertise.
Health access and equity is not only a shortage problem. It is a disconnection problem.
The problem became personal before it became a platform.
Dr. Fasika Teferra was diagnosed with Crohn's disease during medical school, following a long path to diagnosis. That experience informed a broader focus on delayed diagnosis, chronic illness and access to care in Ethiopia.
Subsequent clinical and community work on inflammatory bowel disease connected a personal experience to a wider systems challenge: people can struggle to reach the right care, at the right time, with the right support.

Axis's interest in early diagnosis of chronic illness is informed by clinical and research work.

Connect
Bring patients, providers and institutions together through a trusted digital platform so existing care is easier to find.
02
Generate evidence
Turn healthcare interactions into real-world insight that can support better decisions.
03
Bridge expertise
Create structured pathways between local researchers and clinicians and diaspora and global expertise.
An ecosystem, not a single point solution.
Patients
People seeking access to care, navigation and trusted information.
Providers
Clinicians and care teams delivering services across the health system.
Institutions
Hospitals, facilities and health organizations coordinating care.
Partners
Organizations contributing expertise, infrastructure, research and implementation capacity.
Where we can work together
Axis is designed to work with organizations that can contribute expertise, infrastructure, networks, research capability, funding or implementation capacity.
RESEARCH COLLABORATION
Connecting Ethiopian researchers with global expertise.
Structured collaboration between Ethiopian and global or diaspora researchers, with specialty-based matching, shared studies and publications.
EARLY DIAGNOSIS
Reducing the distance between symptoms and appropriate evaluation.
Partner-supported initiatives that reduce barriers to timely diagnosis and care for specific chronic conditions, with measurable evidence of what works.

There is more to build.
If your organization brings expertise, infrastructure, networks, research capability, resources or implementation capacity that could strengthen healthcare access, we would like to explore what we can build together.
